Afghanistan and Vietnam

This article by Peter Baker (8.22.09 NY Times) is a valid piece for us to read as we get started on this course. We are in the 94th month (depending on how you calculate it) of a war that the Obama administration inherited. During the campaign of 08, the President continually stressed that he would seek to withdraw from Iraq while reemphasizing Afghanistan. Baker draws the analogy with LBJ and the Vietnam era.
